CAPORALES B.F.B.N

Caporales is a projection folk dance that originated in the department of La Paz, Bolivia and was created and presented to the public for the first time in 1969 by brothers Estrada, who inspired the character of Corporal of "Saya Afro "Boliviana" dance that belongs to the Yungas region of Bolivia.
The "Caporal", which in many cases were mestizo or mulatto, was the foreman of the black slaves brought to Bolivia during the colonial era. Following the presentation of a set of Saya in which this character is represented, Pacheco Estrada brothers decide to create a new dance inspired by the central character of Saya (ball) bringing many "Caporales". Hence the name of the Bolivian dance.
