TOBAS

Tuff-dance is a figurative representation of the tribes of the Bolivian Chaco. From pre-colonial relationship between the Andean and Amazonian culture was of domination and resistance. In their raids, the army took prisoners silvicultural Quechua, called ch'unch'us. The arrival of these eastern to the western world in the Aymara inspired the creation of a dance named ch'unch'u precisely, it is not just a way of cultural appropriation. Founded the Republic, the Aymara reinvented dance and appointed Toba, an ethnic name of the Chaco.

The presence of spears, bows and ornaments of feathers, and tattoos and strings of shells and seeds, are superimposed on the net characteristics of Andean clothing. It is a dance that expresses attitudes acrobatic warrior and hunting, the dancers perform jumps and turns as if they had wings on his heels. The relationship of the dancers with the spiritual world is determined by the presence of "Wizards" involved in dance.
